Cubs sign Jeff Fassero for 2 years, $5 million

This isn't a bad move by the Cubs, but it's far from a great one either.  They give Fassero a 2-year deal for $5.1 million, but the problem is that Fassero isn't that good anymore, although he did pitch well out of the bullpen last season.  The problem with him is he's 37 years old and he'll most likely continue to decline over the next two seasons. He gets out of lefty-killer Fenway Park, which would help if he weren't going to the not-so-pitcher-friendly confines of Wrigley Field.  This move most likely won't help the Cubs for more than one season, which is a problems since they are probably a couple of seasons away from competing.
