A's trade for Eric Ireland

If any team can afford to trade a slow outfielder with on-base skills, it's the A's, the team of 9 DHs.  Stairs is coming off a bad season, and this is probably not the best time to trade him, as he's likely to post better numbers next season.  Ireland is a decent prospect, but the Astros apparently weren't really impressed, since they let him go this off-season.  Ireland could turn into a good major league starter, but for now it seems like the wrong time to get rid of Stairs.
