Phillies sign Jose Mesa for 2 years, $6.8 million

The Phillies are braver than I am - Mesa is still living off his stellar 1995 season.  The Phillies are weak in the bullpen, but spending money on a 34 pitcher who hasn't had a good season in four years isn't the answer.  If the Phillies really want to spend money on a free agent reliever, they would be better served to get their hands on Turk Wendell.  Or Jeff Nelson.  Or Rheal Cormier.  Or even Mark Wohlers.
