Mets re-sign Rick Reed for 3 years, $22 million

This was a move that the Mets basically had no choice but to make.  While they are losing out on all of their other pitchers they needed somebody to fill a rotation spot.  Rick Reed is a quality pitcher and three years isn't too much, especially not in the current market.  A little over $7 million per season is a bit steep for the right-hander but not as bad as some of the other signings we've seen (Phillies) this off-season.  This was a necessary and a good move for the Mets.
