Giants trade for Tim Worrell

This is a decent move for the Giants.  The move was done for two reasons: one, it cuts payroll a bit, and two, it adds to their bullpen depth.  It’s always imperative for playoff teams to have a solid bullpen and last year Worrell had a 2.47 ERA in 62 innings, with his home games at the not-so-pitcher-friendly confines of Wrigley Field.  However, Russ Davis, Bill Mueller’s replacement at third, is a poor fielder and, while he has more power than Mueller he doesn’t get on base nearly as much.  This still could be a good move if Worrell pitches as well as he did last season.
